We are nestled in the heart of the majestic city of Kathmandu, capital of Nepal – a country steeped in natural beauty and rich in culture. We offer a comprehensive service to tourists throughout Nepal as well as in Tibet, India and in Bhutan (the land of the Thunder Dragon). The company was formed by a team of Trekking Guides and Climbing Sherpas with over 12 years experience in their respective fields. Since then we have established a reputation as one of Nepal’s leading trekking agencies (with a 100 % safety record), thanks to our experienced Sherpas and Guides.

Team Leader and Company Owner
Expansion set up Kathmandu Adventure Treks in 2005, after working as a freelance guide for six years. He spent several months in New Zealand in 2001 and 2004 to study outdoor adventure tourism, including 5 months with the Outdoor Pursuits Centre in NZ’s Central North Island.
Expansion has guided in Annapurna Conservation Area more than 20 times, and also guided extensively in other national parks including many trips to Everest Base Camp.
Chandika Thapa Dahal
Executive Director
Mrs. Chandik Thapa Dahal, Executive Director Over 5 years experience managing Kathmandu Adventure Treks, Mrs. Chandika born and raised in Lalitpur-6, Chhampi, where she completed her education, then moved to Kathmandu where she completed a Bachelors’ in Business management . Very initiative and helpful person.
Bechan Rai
Trekking Guide
Bechan has 19 years’ experience as a trekking guide. Like all Kathmandu Adventure Treks guides, he hold a Nepal Government guide license.
He has guided many high pass treks in remote areas, and safety guided trekkers to Annapurna, Everest Base Camp and Langtang dozens of times. He is married to Rajani and the couple have one daughter.
Shankar Thapa
Trekking Guide
Shankar has 10 years’ experience as a trekking guide. Like all Kathmandu Adventure Treks guides, he hold a Nepal Government guide license.
He has guided many high pass treks in remote areas, and safety guided trekkers to Annapurna, Everest Base Camp and Langtang dozens of times. He is married to Shova and the he has one daughter one son. Lives in Kathmandu.
Naresh Thapa
Trekking Guide
Naresh has worked as a guide for Kathmandu Adventure Treks for six years. When not guiding, he is completing a university degree in Management Studies.
Naresh is married to Urbashi and the couple have two young sons.
