Pokhara is the most popular destination in Nepal after Kathmandu. Enclosed by the Annapurna Range of the Himalayas (in the shape of a horseshoe). At 800m above sea level, the air is clean and fresh and the sub-tropical climate is ideal.
Most travelers stay in the favored Lakeside District which follows the shoreline of Fewa Lake (Nepal’s second largest lake). Lakeside and in easy reach of Fewa Tal, Hotels, shops, and restaurants. The main thoroughfare runs parallel to the shore and has the feel of a relaxed border town.
Pokhara is a popular meeting point because it is set in spectacular natural landscapes and is so well placed for connections with the major trekking routes in the region as well as easy to reach from Kathmandu. You can enjoy some of the major historical places such as Devi’s Fall, Mahendra Cave, Gupteshor Cave, Bindabasini Temple, Tibetan Camp, etc.
