Festivals have played an important part in Nepali life and culture for centuries, and it seems like almost every day there is celebration happening somewhere in the country. These can range from small-scale local festivals held by one of the country’s many tribes and ethnic groups, right up to nationwide Buddhist and Hindu celebrations, full of colour and music.

Trip Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu. Transfer and check in at hotel.
Day 2: Worship of dog and crow. Visit important shrines of Kathmandu Valley. Light Festival starts, walk thru narrow alley of Kathmandu.
Day 3: Worshipping of holy animal cow and Goddess of Wealth. Sightseeing in Patan. In evening wander thru illuminated old bazaar of Kathmandu to view Light Festival.
Day 4: Worshipping of oneself/body in Newar Community. Sightseeing in Bhaktapur. Visit of one of the Newari house to observe this festival in family atmosphere.
Day 5: Brother Festival, "Bhai Tika". House visit for direct observation
of the ceremony.
Day 6: Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley.
Day 7: Transfer to airport and fly out.
